Breaking News: "Armageddon" in Pavlograd, Ukraine, from Russian strike - Tu-95 strategic bombers are currently striking targets.
The goal is to destroy the Ukrainian counterattack before it begins.
A tough night for the Ukrainians began about an hour ago: Reports indicate that several 10-17 Tu-95 strategic bombers have taken off from their bases in Murmansk and have launched successive waves of missile strikes against Ukrainian targets while also hitting concentration areas of Ukrainian troops.
They have been launched or are expected to be established based on the weapons load carrying 112 long-range air-to-surface missiles.
At the same time, a significant strike occurred at an anti-aircraft missile depot in Pavlograd, Ukraine, where Ukrainian stockpiles of missiles for the S-300 and Buk-M1 systems were destroyed.
From Wikipedia:
The city is home to the Pavlohrad Mechanical Plant (PMZ), established in
December 1963 as a specialized production facility of Plant No. 586 (now
Pivdenmash Production Association).
PMZ is a factory dedicated to the assembly,
perfection, and production of solid-fueled rocket engines and missiles.
By 1975 PMZ
became the largest solid-rocket factory within the Ministry of General Machine
Building of the USSR.
PMZ made fuel tanks for booster rockets and
plastic ICBM rocket motor casings, parts, components, and assemblies for
aerospace systems manufacturing.
Pavlograd is a city and municipality in central-eastern Ukraine between Sloviansk and Dnipro.
Its population is approximately 101,430 inhabitants ( before the war).
Initial reports speak of destroying up to 16 units of S-300P quadruple launchers while supply vehicles with spare munitions were hit.
The images transmitted from the point of impact are awe-inspiring.
Whether they were struck from land or the air is still being determined.
