A possible simultaneous attack by Russia from the North and South of Ukraine.

Russian amphibious assault ship

Thursday, January 12, 2022. Latest reports from Russian media say that a short time ago, a prominent Russian amphibious ship headed for the western part of the Black Sea accompanied by Russian warships.

In the context of earlier reports that Russia could land troops in southern Ukraine, the appearance of the prominent Russian landing ship "Pyotr Morgunov" became a possible indication that the plan to land troops could well be implemented with a simultaneous attack by the north of the front resulting in the encirclement of large Ukrainian military formations.

It is known that a large amphibious assault ship left Novorossiysk, and with it, judging by satellite images, three more diesel-electric submarines moved, each carrying Caliber cruise missiles.

The new Russian leadership wants to show that it wants and can bring immediate results to the war with Ukraine, which in a few days, completes a year of bloody fighting on both sides.

As for the large landing ship "Pyotr Morgunov," the latter is currently the largest landing ship in the waters of the Black Sea.

What exactly may be on the ship is unknown; however, the vessel is well-armed and can withstand attacks even with Harpoon anti-ship cruise missiles, previously transferred to the Ukrainian military.
