Is Austria the next official target of Russia?

Austria country profile and map in Europe

Analysis and Chronology Part one was the dissolution of the Austrian and Hungarian empires.

On September 10, 1919, the Treaty of Saint Germain was signed between the victorious powers of World War I and the newly established republic of Austria, creating a socio-political domino of developments.

Joseph Schumpeter

"The problem with Russia is not that it is socialist, but that it is Russia."

Joseph A. Schumpeter, 1883-1950, Austrian economist

The context of the treaty.

With the signing of the Treaty of Saint Germain, the former Austro-Hungarian Empire ceased to exist, with Austria and Hungary now becoming two separate states, separated from the old Empire and now operating on a new democratic basis.

At the same time, the independent states of Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia are created.

Territorial rearrangements will continue in the coming years with new conditions in almost all of Europe.

By signing this treaty, Austria would be obliged to pay a large number of war reparations to the rival countries, while at the same time, Austria would regulate the country's Army in such a way that it could not pose a threat again in the future.

More specifically, Austria will reduce the military structure of the former Empire to a certain number of volunteer soldiers.

Charting a new course

The Treaty of Saint Germain brought about significant changes at the geopolitical level, characterized by the dissolution of the old borders with the simultaneous creation of new ones.

At the same time, new states were established, such as Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia

These restructurings pushed the European reality into the new era while simultaneously preparing the ground for the new warlike movements of the participating countries. The Treaty of Saint Germain created the basis of the new diplomacy that would be practiced in the following years through the Treaties of Neuilly and Sèvres.

Anschluss

in Vienna on March 15, 1938

The Anschluss, the annexation of Austria to Germany, was carried out by Nazi Germany in March 1938 when German troops invaded Austria.

The Union of Austria with Germany was one of the primary goals of Adolf Hitler personally, but also of the National Socialist party since it would mean the creation of Greater Germany and lead to the revival of the German Empire. The idea of unifying the German nation gained particular traction with the end of World War I and the dissolution of the Habsburg Empire in 1918, especially when the creation of the state of the German-Austrian Republic ("Republik Deutschösterreich") was blocked by the Treaty of Versailles.

Finally, the Union was achieved with the military invasion of German troops in 1938, which lasted until April 1945, when Soviet troops invaded the country.

In 1943, in the Moscow Declaration, reference was made to annexed Austria:

The country would not remain annexed to Germany and would be given independence. Austria remained part of the Third Reich until the end of World War II.

When it became apparent that Germany had now collapsed, a provisional government took over in Austria, which, on April 27, 1945, declared the annexation null and void.

Austria came under allied occupation (by the then Soviet Union and its legal successor, today's Russia), which recognized the country as independent (about Germany) and remained occupied until 1955 when the Treaty of Austrian State and the Declaration of Neutrality.

"Philosophy is like Russia: full of swamps and frequently invaded by the Germans." Roger Nimier, 1925-1962, was a French journalist.

Nimier was born in Paris and served in the French Army, specifically in the 2nd Hussard Regiment in the Second World War (until 1945).

He began to write quite early in his life. His first novel, Les Épées (The Swords), was published in 1948 when he was only 23.

Nimier was the recognized leader of the Hussards, a literary group that included notably Antoine Blondin, Michel Déon, and Jacques Laurent, who opposed existentialism.

He opposed the figure of the "engaged writer" symbolized by Jean-Paul Sartre.

Today Thursday, January 26, 2023, a Historical speech.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a severe attack on USA-NATO

He warned European countries, especially Germany, for a "Breach of the conditions of the Second World War" by sending heavy tanks to Kyiv, at the same time raising the issue of "guarantor of Austria and the Austrian Constitution" laying the foundations even for an attempt to "restore the Austrian Constitution"!

How; Advance to Vienna? Otherwise, why would he say it? It is a fact that Austria, like Finland, has violated their neutrality!

Based on what he said, Russia has the right to intervene in Austria.

How will Westerners react?

Dmitry Medvedev

But the most crucial thing was announced by Dmitry Medvedev, vice president of the Russian Security Council and former president of Russia: "The Ukrainian regime will not succeed

Ukraine will be landlocked very soon. Therefore, our following goals are the recapture of Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa on the Black Sea!

Henry Kissinger, 1923-American politician

"Since the time of Peter the Great, Russia has continuously expanded at the rate of one Belgium per year." Henry Kissinger, 1923-American politician

What the Russian president said:

"Germany is still under American occupation both legally and practically. After the Second World War, Germany was divided, as you know, into four sectors: American, British, French, and Soviet. Thus, the Soviet Union formalized the end of this occupation regime while the United States has not. There are US occupation forces located on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany".

"Soviet troops were stationed in Austria but left voluntarily in 1946.

Russia, the legal successor of the Soviet Union, is the guarantor of the constitution of the Austrian Republic and the guarantor of the neutrality of the Austrian Republic. In general, many ordinary people in Austria know this and are grateful to Russia for this position," he said.

His words mean:

That the treaties were broken on the part of the USA by staying in Germany and involving Austria, in which Russia has a right to intervene based on its guarantee!

All this, combined with the statement of Medvedev, vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council and former president of Russia, leads to situations that no one would like to see:

In his new post, on the occasion of the recent mini-summit of the NATO countries at the air base Ramstein in Germany, Dmitry Medvedev talks about the 'long war.'

"The deployment of heavy weapons in Kyiv leaves no doubt that our enemies will indefinitely try to wear us down or destroy us. And they have enough guns. If necessary, they will start producing new ones. The war will now be challenging, but we will win!

In a few days, it will be one year since Russia invaded Ukraine, and there is no hope for a ceasefire or peace anywhere in sight.

Otto, Prince of Bismarck, Count of Bismarck-Schönhausen, Duke of Lauenburg

"The secret of international politics is to deal well with Russia."

Otto von Bismarck, 1815-1898, German Chancellor.
