Russia: Show of force with a bombing in Kyiv at the start of the European Union summit.

Friday, February 3, 2023.

A few days ago, only 21 since Russia's invasion of Ukraine was completed, Russia is again making a show of force.

International media recently reported that:

Air raid alarms sounded across Ukraine on Friday, warning the world of a possible wave of Russian attacks.

Sirens rang out in Kyiv, the capital, where European Union leaders arrived Thursday for talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, today.

European leaders are expected to be driven to safe shelters.

Charles Michel, president of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, are present at the summit ahead of the first anniversary of Russia's invasion on February 24, 2022.

European Union leaders are scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Friday, promising new sanctions against Russia but likely dashing Ukraine's hope for speedy European Union membership.

Senior members of the E.U. executive met with their counterparts in the Ukrainian government, and von der Leyen and the head of the E.U.'s 27 national leaders, Charles Michel, will hold talks with Zelensky today.

Zelensky has called for more punitive measures against Russia from the European Union.

Still, the new sanctions the bloc is preparing for the anniversary are set to fall short of his government's demands.

We reached a critical mutual understanding," Zelensky said of Thursday's talks. "Only a strong Ukraine and a strong European Union, through further integration, can provide energy and motivation to fight regardless of obstacles and threats."

While the E.U. supports Ukraine and democratic and economic reforms there, it refuses to offer a fast track to membership while Ukraine is at war.

Ukraine applied for membership shortly after the invasion and was granted formal E.U. candidate status in June.

E.U. officials said topics discussed Thursday included more weapons, money, and energy for Ukraine, better access for its goods to the E.U. market, stricter sanctions on Moscow, and efforts to prosecute Russian war crimes.

The German government has approved the delivery of Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine from stockpiles and is in talks to buy 15 Gepard tanks from Qatar for deployment there, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported on Friday, citing government sources.

The Leopard 1s are less advanced than the Leopard 2s promised by Germany and other countries last week but could be delivered sooner.

before sending it to Ukraine.

The E.U. has demanded more anti-corruption measures from Ukraine, which is seen as having endemic state graft, saying it needs to establish a credible track record.

To that end, Zelensky has announced firings and investigations of several officials over the past two weeks, aptly saying that the defense ministry must be cleaned up.

The EU-Ukraine summit coincides with the intensification of Russian pressure on Ukrainian forces on the eastern battlefields and the northeast and south.

Moscow says one of its primary goals in Ukraine is to secure the rest of Donetsk province, one of four unilaterally annexed in September.

Its primary focus has been on the Donetsk city of Bakhmut, where its forces have made gradual gains over the past week.

In Washington, CIA Director William Burns said developments on the battlefield in the next six months would be "absolutely critical" and that Russian President Vladimir Putin was not serious about negotiations.

Why did the Russian president hit Kyiv now?

Opinion.

In closing, we highlight that the Russian attack on Kyiv is part of Putin's Psychological Operations against the E.U.

Putin is showing an absolute lack of respect for the High European Officials in the Ukrainian capital and who is in command in the region and beyond.

In addition, it shows that the war in Ukraine is entering its harshest phase and that the rift in Russia-EU relations has become unbridgeable.

Russia is trying to buy time and gather 1.5 million troops for its final offensive that will include other countries besides Ukraine.

NATO, in its turn, is preparing for the significant new war that will be involved in addition to the European geographical area and in the Pacific Ocean region, as was seen with the participation of Japan and South Korea as observers and with consuls in NATO recently.

Once again, like in 1939, Europe will involve the whole Planet in another pointless and endless war, which will not solve any problem, as the First World War did not solve, which laid the foundations for the Second World War.

Just as the Second World War was not resolved, today, in 2023, we are concerned with the even paranoid possibility of a third World War, with new destructive weapons and an unknown number of future victims that may result from these wars.

And, of course, no one will be able, once again, to guarantee that the end of the third world war will not lay the foundations for the start of the fourth world war, which will probably be fought with poles and swords by whatever tribes of cavemen remain alive at the end of the third world war.

Suppose Humans do not embrace and experience the necessity of harmonious coexistence and mutual tolerance, as well as the defense of eternally universal human values. In that case, immature people will repeat the same mistakes since they cannot even make new mistakes.

Are you doing U.N. it will not save humankind if it does not want to be saved?
