Update: New developments from the latest bombing of the port of Odesa, which is the city that exports Ukraine's wheat.

port of Odesa

For the third day in a row, Russian missile forces leveled Odesa's port and military facilities immediately after cutting the Ukrainian grain export deal.

There is an opinion that Moscow is waiting for all the Ukrainian reserves to be used up on the fronts of Zaporizhia and Donbas

Then when Kyiv is no longer weak, Russian forces will advance to Kharkiv and land in Odesa.

The port of Odesa, taking advantage of the grain corridor, permanently received Western weapon systems and ammunition by any means.

In these three days, the Russians destroyed many warehouses of armaments and ammunition.

The bombing was carried out by eight Russian Tu-22M strategic bombers, which hit Ukrainian infrastructure with Kh-22 cruise missiles.

In 1991, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Odesa came under the control of Ukraine.

Demographics

The spoken language in Odessa is Russian.

Although it is a city in Ukraine, in schools, the teaching of subjects is conducted in the Ukrainian language, and the majority of the inhabitants know the Ukrainian language perfectly; traditionally, its inhabitants use the Russian language in the whole range of their activities and contacts.

The city is inhabited by many ethnic groups, according to its history. In addition to Ukrainians, who are the majority, many Russians live in Odessa.

They are followed by Jews, Greeks, Germans, French, Romanians, Turks, Armenians, and Georgians.

The residents of Odessa broadly define themselves as extroverts and cosmopolitan.

This characteristic arises from the city's position between West and East, its history, and the role of the port in the city's daily life.

Along with Kherson (under Russian siege since February 24, 2022) and Sevastopol, Odesa is one of the most essential ports in Ukraine.

Odesa is the country's primary transport and road center (Ukraine).
