Finland is closely monitoring the situation in neighboring Russia after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization today, Finnish Defense Minister Andii Kaikkonen said.
"Regarding the areas around Finland, I can say that the military situation is stable and calm," Kaikkonen pointed out. "Our armed forces are well prepared and closely monitoring the situation."

At the same time, Lithuania announced that it had increased the readiness of its army's immediate reaction units "to prevent any provocation from the Russian side," according to the country's Defense Minister Arvindas Anousauskas.
"As Russia's partial mobilization also concerns the Kaliningrad region, Lithuania cannot simply watch," he added.
